Dixiane Hallaj always loved books. She reveled in the frequent moves her military family made because each move landed her in a new school with a library full of books she hadn’t read. She started her first novel at age twelve, writing in pencil on a yellow legal pad. Luckily, the novel did not make it to the second chapter.
Many years later, when one of her professors described her award-winning dissertation as a page-turner, she once again turned to fiction writing. While writing her four novels (and counting), she spent a lot of time reading and reviewing independently published authors. She found amazing talent in many books, often marred by a lack of craft. Armed with a Ph.D. in Literacy and Adult Learning, she now applies her efforts to creating opportunities for authors.
